Local gospel artist gets four award nominations

KwaThema - A local gospel artist keeps on shining in the industry.

Tebello Sukwene has received four nominations in the Mzansi Gospel Awards.

The talented singer was born in Springs, and grew up in KwaThema and Tsakane.

She went to Geluksdal Primary School and Geluksdal Secondary School, and has sung gospel all her life.

According to Tebello, she was brought up believing in God.

She has worked with many great musicians in the industry, including Lira and Simphiwe Dana.

In October, she released her new album, He’s Alive.

The album saw her receiving a nomination in the Best Contemporary Faith Music Album category, at the South African Music Awards.

“Even though I did not win the award, I am still proud that people are healed and motivated by listening to my album,” she says.

The album has also landed her four nominations in the Mzansi Gospel Awards.

She has been nominated in the Best New Comer, Best Female Artist, Album of the Year and Song of the Year categories.

The awards were held on June 13, at the Mosaiek Teatro.

Sukwene did not win any of the categories in which she was nominated.

She concludes by promising her fans that they will see her soon, in their cities, when she will be touring the country to preach the gospel through her music.
