Youth Day celebrated through music
KwaThema- Afro-Twist Ensemble will be entertaining audiences with a musical production commemorating the events of June 16, 1976.
The musical will take place at the Springs Civic Centre in Plantation Road on June 19.
This theatrical group hails from KwaThema and was founded earlier this year, with the aim of combating youth unemployment and developing young artists in Kwatsaduza.
Founder of the group, Mpupile Mathibe (36), wants to cultivate young artists’ talents through music and acting.
“It has always been my dream to have a theatrical group in my community so young people can grow their artistic talents,” says Mathibe.
He believes there are many young people who have talent, but don’t know how to go about developing it further.
The musical promises to be informative and will educate people about the events that took place on June 16, 1976.
Entrance is free and everybody is welcome.
