A dream come true for Humphrey

KwaThema - Humphrey Sibande (24) from KwaThema is living his dreams.

The young man from KwaThema, who has wanted to be in the entertainment industry since he was six years old, was recently signed to TS Records as a producer.

Humphrey was born in KwaThema’s Barcelona Section and received his primary school education at Sakhelwe and Nkabinde Primary Schools in KwaThema.

He matriculated in 2003 at Phulong Senior Secondary School, and then studied journalism at the Tshwane University of Technology.

Humphrey’s interest in the entertainment industry continued to grow, and while in his second year at university, he became a presenter for a Saturday morning show on YoTV.

“I then joined YFM’s Y Academy as a technical producer for the breakfast show from 2007 until 2008,” says Humphrey.

His love for radio landed him a one year contract at Ukhozi FM, where he also worked as a technical producer for the breakfast show.

Humphrey then joined local radio station EKFM, as a co-host for the afternoon drive show.

“While still working in radio, my love for music became stronger than my love for being behind the microphone as a presenter or an events emcee,” he says.

It was last year when Humphrey’s dream of working with big music artists became a reality.

His talent was recognised by Thembinkosi ‘TK’ Nciza, co-owner of TS Records.

“TK saw the best in me and I was officially signed as the company’s song producer last month,” says an excited Humphrey.

To celebrate all his achievements in the entertainment industry, Humphrey will host an All Black Party at KwaThema’s De Venue on May 30 from 6pm .

Entrance is free.
