Allegations will be investigated

KwaThema - The Department of Education has appointed an independent law firm to investigate the allegations levelled against the principal and deputy principal of Zamani Primary School.

This follows a protest by some school learners’ parents last Monday, where they complained about alleged mismanagement at the school.

The parents allege the principal has failed to address various grievances and are concerned about the lack of productivity at the school.

Department of Education spokesman Phumla Sekhonyane says the department was concerned about the disruption of teaching and learning at the school.

A meeting to resolve the matter was held with parents and the school governing body on the day, and an investigation was launched.

Another meeting was held on Tuesday, where the appointed lawyer interviewed all the parties involved.

Parents were, however, still displeased after the meeting and explained they will not relent until the principal leaves the school.

The principal and deputy are still on duty.
