A win for Jealous Down
Local soccer teams Lucitano and Jealous Down squared off in the Springs Local Football Association (SLFA) Premier League match at KwaThema Sports Complex, last Saturday.
Despite the chilly weather, fans came out to support their teams.
The first few minutes of the match saw the teams building momentum.
Both had an equal chance of the ball position.
Moments later, Sphiwe Manana (17) of Jealous Down, scored the first goal.
This left Lucitano under pressure to get the ball behind the net.
Just before the half time whistle, Ayanda Khoza (25) from Lucitano, scored the equalizer.
In the second half, Jealous Down was eagerly looking for another goal to put them in the lead.
Thato Sefalene (18) accomplished this and scored the team’s second goal minutes into the second half.
Jealous Down then tightened their defence to prevent Lucitano from scoring.
It was evident which team was going to win.
The match ended in a 2 – 1 win to Jealous Down.
