House built by the department of human settlement and councillor

A house has been re-built by the department of Human Settlement and Councillor Ivy Nkosi.

The department of Human Settlement has built a new house for a family after their old house burnt down.

The house burnt down in August 2012. Despite their uncle’s effort to save them, two children burnt to death inside the house.

Mother of the children Nomfundo Nkosi says that she is very grateful that the municipality and the Councillor have helped re-build the house after the tragic incident occurred.

She says she and her family appreciate the initiative, yet the house still needs furniture.

She says she is still traumatised by the incident, yet she is taking things day by day.

Uncle of the children Samuel Nkosi says he is very thankful for the progress of the construction.

Councillor Ivy Nkosi says the drive to re-build the house began on Mandela Day last year.

She urges to the community for donations of furniture that is still in good condition or any local businesses to call her on 082 639 1211.
