At around 8pm yesterday a robber stormed into a shack in Gugulethu/Everest informal settlement where one victim was alone at the time.
Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says the suspect used sign language to communicate with the victim and demanded cash from him while the victim’s uncle was outside.
“It is alleged that when the uncle returned to the shack the suspect who was armed with a firearm shot and killed him, and took an undisclosed amount of cash before running away.” says Ramphora.
The police are investigating a case of murder and house robbery.
