New organisation to expose talents
A new organisation in KwaThema is aimed at exposing the talents of young people from the township.
The Bontle Ba Bophelo Youth Organisation was formed in April by Thato Sibanyoni (18) from KwaThema’s White City Section.
It consists of six members.
Thato says the organisation is aimed at encouraging the youth to take control of their future.
He says he formed the organisation after he realised that many young people from the township have the talents but lack information and encouragement to ensure that their talents are polished and shine for the country to see.
He says because his organisation believes that education is the key to open many locked doors to a brighter future, his organisation goes around to different pre-schools to encourage children to love education.
Thato says the challenges that the organisation is faced with is not being taken seriously by other organisations.
“Because we do things differently, other organisations do not understand us,” said Thato.
He said despite the challenges that they are experiencing, the organisation’s dream is to see every young person being able to feed their family by using their poetry, music and drama talents.

On Sunday, the organisation will host the youth upliftment seminar at the KwaThema Old Age Centre from 2pm.
