Daniel is the men’s tennis champion

Kyla Yelverton also defended her women's singles championship title successfully, beating young Anastasia Pesic (12).

Daniel Myeni is once again the men’s singles champion of the Selection Park Tennis Club.

He beat up-and-coming young player Rynhardt Knoetze 7-5 and 6-4 at the club’s championship finals, played on Sunday.

This final was the first for Rynhardt, but Daniel’s experience and superior court-craft got the better of him.

Daniel also won the club’s championship in 2007, 2008, 2012 and 2013.

Gary Mons beat Daniel in 2009 and 2010, but lost in three sets to Rynhardt in this year’s semi-final.

In the women’s singles championship Kyla Yelverton also defended her title successfully, beating young Anastasia Pesic (12) 6-0 and 6-0.

The men’s doubles was won by Rynhardt Knoetze and Eben Mare when they beat Jonathan Reed and Justin Cunha with a score of 6-3 and 6-4.

Sandy Cock and Michelle Kent were whipped by Kyla Yelverton and Gillian Herst 6-0 and 6-1 in the women’s doubles.

The mixed doubles went to Rynhardt Knoetze and Kyla Yelverton (6-2 and 7-5), making it three out of three for Kyla.

The runners-up were Pieter Stoltz and Claire Gosse.
