Boxing amateurs gear up for tournament
About eight young boxers from the Geo Maroon Boxing Club will be competing in a boxing tournament, to be held in Boksburg.
The amateurs will be fighting on Saturday, to keep the flag of KwaThema flying high, following all the other fights they have won.
One of the boxers, Siyabulela Vikisi (12), says he has never lost a fight since he joined the club, three years ago.
“I know that when I grow up I will not be just a boxer, but the one who will register only wins under my name,” says a confident Siya.
Coach and the founder of the Geo Maroon, Themba Zulu, is also confident that his boys will grow up to be the best boxers in the country.
“My boys have never disappointed me and I have no doubt that they will win their fights tomorrow,” says Zulu.
The first fight is expected to take place at noon.
