Attention all fans of genuine South African music

Carnival City's Big Top Arena is hosting a one-night-only concert on December 15 to celebrate National Reconciliation Day.

Fans are in for a treat as “In The Company Of” collaborates with four of the country’s best-loved artists.

The star-studded line-up gives fans performances of Freshly Ground, Bhudaza, Naima Kay and Wanda Baloyi.

This is the first time that these four top local artists are hosted in one event.

“With a line-up of fantastic, truly-authentic and proudly South African entertainment on the bill, it promises to be a fitting celebration of National Reconciliation Day, and the approaching festive season,” says Jaco Saaiman, Entertainment Manager at Carnival City.

Freshly Ground needs little introduction.

Formed in early 2002, the band is made up of seven talented and diverse musicians from South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Between them, the band’s members weave a musical magic that is highly infectious and undeniably amazing.

Acclaimed singer and musician, Bhudaza is another of South Africa’s shining stars.

He has blazed a trail on the local music scene for over a decade, with his albums nominated for prestigious awards, including the MTN South African Music Awards, and the South African Music Awards (SAMAs).

Fast-rising singer and musician, Naima Kay brings her unique style of soulful Afro Pop to the music event.

Amazingly talented Kay recently won the 2014 SAMA for Best Newcomer.

While Kay’s first album, Umsebenzi, is clearly rooted in her Christian beliefs, it’s also a hip and fresh interpretation of Afro Pop.

Her tunes have been remixed by the likes of Heavy K to create a more urban dance sound.

But the messages in her songs remain the strongest element.

Colourful jazz songstress, Wanda Baloyi is one of South Africa’s leading R&B singers.

She first burst onto the local music scene as lead singer for the all-girl group, Ghetto Luv.

Wanda has had the opportunity to work and share stages with many great musicians and bands such as Jimmy Dludlu, M Connection, The Moreira Project, Straight and Narrow, Loading Zone, Sibongile Khumalo, Mark Fransman and many others.
