Not for the fainted-hearted

DVD: Sabotage Reviewed by: Samantha Keogh Review made possible by: Times Media Home Entertainment

A DEA special ops team takes down a drug cartel and manages to divert $10 million in cash for themselves.

When they try to recover the money from its hiding place they find it has disappeared, leaving them with nothing but suspension while the DEA investigates them for theft.

When no evidence of wrongdoing can be found, the team is returned to active duty.

Then the killing starts.

Members of the team are systematically killed one after another – gruesome and gory are words that spring to mind – in a film that has enough action and mayhem to satisfy even the most ghoulish viewer.

Arnold Schwarzenegger leads a competent cast in this somewhat brutal whodunit which will have you guessing until the end.

But Arnie aficionados are in for a shock.

The Gubernator has seemingly cast aside the whimsical approach to acting so well loved in the Terminator series and has opted for a serious, cigar-chomping take on the main character, John “Breacher“ Wharton.

What’s worse is he is starting to look old and weathered.

Obviously the vagaries of his private life and the demands of politics have taken a grim toll.

Olivia Williams provides the pseudo love interest in a strong appearance as Investigator Caroline Brentwood.

A violent offering which is not for the faint-hearted but which will appeal to fans of crime and action.
