Two robbers were recently arrested for attempted murder in Tsakane.
The suspects, aged 25 and 27 years, were arrested after they approached a couple walking at the corner of Thekwane and Zulu streets and demanded cash and cell phones from them while also pointing a gun at them.
Captain Petros Mabuza of the Tsakane police says the suspects robbed the couple of R600 and two cell phones.
“Before driving off in a white Honda Ballade, the suspects shot the woman on her right leg,” says Mabuza.
He added that the victims stopped one of the police vehicles that was patrolling in the area and the police managed to catch the robbers.
The police recovered the firearm that the robbers used, an amount of R600 and the two cell phones belonging to the victims.
A case of attempted murder and armed robbery was opened and the suspects will soon appear in court.
