Elco Santos claim victory during Easter tournament

The BLFA hosted the four days’ Easter tournament for both juniors and seniors.

The games that were played at Malandela ground and Geluksdal stadium attracted great attention from the soccer fans who came out in numbers to support their teams.

The senior game’s semi final played between Jerusalem FC and the Black Stars FC at the Malandela Ground was one of the electrifying games.

During the first half of the game, both teams did not show any eagerness to proceed to the finals despite the fact that it was compulsory to get a winner.

The second half of the game started with Jerusalem attacking and making Black Stars’ goalie work hard, saving the goals.

After realising that Jerusalem was working hard to secure a place for themselves in the final games, Black Stars also pulled up their socks.

The game continued with no team registering a goal under their name until a few minutes before the end of the game.

Black Stars’ Zakhele Marobane put the ball behind the net, putting his team in the lead.

Zakhele’s goal confirmed the team’s supporters’ confidence in winning the game. The whistle was blown to end the game and the Black Stars won, 1-0.

The Stars faced Elco Santos in the final game and Santos was crowned the tournament champions after beating the Stars, 2-1.
