Police warn about hijacking

Following another hijacking that took place at the N17, Springs police warn drivers to be careful.

According to Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora, another hijacking happened on the N17 last Tuesday.

He says the driver of a Mercedes Benz lost his car when two suspects, who were armed with firearms, hijacked his car.

He says this was the third vehicle to be hijacked from that area this year and that the police urges motorists to stop at safer places and not to accept help from strangers.

Ramphora says the car was later found in Tsakane and police are still looking for the hijackers. If you know the whereabouts of the hijackers, you are asked to contact the Springs police on 011 365 5700/19/20.
