Donation sees learners put best feet forward

Nkabinde Primary School’s learners have new school shoes thanks to a donation by a local car dealership

Nkabinde Primary School received 100 pairs of school shoes from Kia Springs on Wednesday.

School principal Vusi Nkabinde said the donation came at the perfect time.

“Many of our learners come from informal settlements, and we know they do not have much. We can see the state of the school shoes and uniforms.

“We are really appreciative of this gesture,” he said.

The local car dealership recently embarked on a mission to support education and positively impact the lives of the learners at Nkabinde Primary School.

“For every vehicle sold, Kia Springs has committed to donating 10 pairs of school shoes to children in need.
“We already received the first 100 pairs of school shoes, and plans are underway to contribute another 100 pairs shortly.

“This initiative demonstrates the dealership’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and highlights its dedication to empowering local communities and ensuring every child has access to essential educational resources.

“The impact of this gesture extends beyond the material value of the shoes; it is a symbolic representation of the community coming together to support the next generation,” explained Bilal Karanie, the sales manager at Kia Springs.

Karanie said this is an opportunity to inspire others to join in and contribute to the betterment of the community.
“We also hope to encourage other businesses and individuals to engage in similar acts of kindness,” he added.
