Some services stay open for holidays

Unessential services will close on December 27 and reopen on January 2.

The CoE informs residents and ratepayers that municipal offices and facilities providing non-essential services will be closed from December 27, 2023, and re-open on January 2, 2024.

The closure will affect administrative offices, libraries, selected clinics, rates halls and pay points. During the recess, residents needing healthcare services are encouraged to use Community Healthcare (CHC) centres and hospitals, which operate for 24 hours.

Residents can use the numbers listed below for any emergency or service interruptions:

• Life-threatening emergency line – 011 458 0911 or 10177 or 112 from cellphones.

• Municipal services call centre – 0860 543 000

The CoE reminds residents to pay their municipal accounts on time and use the online rates payment platform, Siyakhokha, on www.siyakhokha.ekurhuleni.gov.za

Below is a list of the healthcare facilities that will be operational during the recess:

• East: Daveyton Main Community Day Centre, Kwa-Thema Community Health Centre, Nokuthela Ngwenya Community Health Centre, and Phillip Moyo Community Health Centre 24 hours. The Far East Rand and Pholosong hospitals will also be operational.

• North: Esangweni Community Health Centre 24 hours and Thembisa Hospital.

• South: Phola Park Community Health Centre, Jabulane Dumane Community Health Centre, and Ramokonopi Community Health Centre 24 hours.

Bertha Gxowa, Tambo Memorial, and Thelle Mogoerane Regional hospitals will also be operational.
