Bazingeli won the first Tsakane Build It League

Tsakani – The Tsakane Build It League came to an end on Sunday at the Malandela Ground with Bazingeli reigning supreme as the first champs of the competition.

The nine-month-long tournament saw a lot of twists and turns with different teams climbing the ladder and leading the log for a few weeks.

PCF Masters was the only team which stayed on the bottom for the entire season.

The league took two seasonal breaks, one for the Chicken and Meat Co Cup and one for the Build It Premier Cup.

The cups were won by Duduza XI, which was in the running to be the league winners.


Bazingeli are the first Tsakane Build It League champions.

The results on Sunday were:

  • Duduza XI 5 – 0 Yebo Yes
  • Geluksdal Masters 0 – 3 Bazingeli
  • All Nation 1 – 2 Zethembe
  • Skomboyz Masters 1 – 2 17 Masters
  • Amabhubezi 0 – 2 Brothers Masters
  • PCF Masters 0 – 1 Wizard

Bazingeli raised the trophy after winning the competition with 51 points, winning five consecutive games. It was followed by Duduza XI at 49 points. All Nation was also in the running but it remained in position three after losing their match.

Bazingeli and Duduza XI have qualified for the 2024 GP Masters Champions League which will be taking place in January at a place and date yet to be confirmed.

The league founder, Votile ‘Mqeqeeshi’ Jack said, “Congratulations to Bazingeli for being crowned as the league champions. Congratulations to the four teams which will be forming part and playing in the 2024 league champ of champs through cups and those who qualified for the top eight.”

The four teams will be the pre-season cup runner-up, Zethembe; the premier cup runner-up, All Nation; Duduza XI and Bazingeli.

He said as their maiden season has come to an end, they take this opportunity to thank all the teams that were a part of the great initiative and recognise their commitment.

“Our 2024 programme will resume on the first week of February and a fully-fledged schedule will be communicated in due course,” he said.

Bazingeli coach Vusi Khumalo said they are happy with the win.

“It wasn’t an easy one, there was a time we thought we were not going to make it, our hopes were raised after we beat both Duduza XI and All Nation,” he said.

Khumalo said it was three weeks that they were up and down with the two teams and it was stressful however in the end, they had the last laugh.
