Calls for unity among chiefdoms

The organisers made HIV, TB and high blood pressure screening available to promote health and wellness.

The United Royal of Ekurhuleni hosted an imbizo in Mqantsa, Tembisa, last Saturday.

According to Thembinkosi Vazi Ngingi of the Hleke Chiefdom, the purpose was to celebrate culture and heritage.

“For many years the has been division among the tribes, We are stronger together,” he added.

Ngingi believes that chiefs can help to correct social ills in communities.

“People are suffering because there is no direction and guidance for our people. We need to equip families for them to be good citizens,” he said.

Ngingi emphasised that many men felt oppressed by the justice system.

“All the resources we have should never be used as weapons against each other,” said Ngingi.
