Motshweni takes seventh position
Athlete Xolani Motshweni was grateful for the donations that allowed him to compete.
Kwa-Thema – Xolani Motshweni competed in the 75kg International Bodybuilding Fitness Federation (IBFF) All Africa competition at Gold Reef City on Saturday and came seventh.
Motshweni said competing would not have been possible if his teachers and the community had not donated to his transport and competition fees.
He said a special thanks went to his English teacher, Pertunia Ramaila, who suggested they draw donation forms so he could ask for donations.
“I also thank my gym partners because they keep me going. I’m not doing this for myself but for the whole community and to motivate them that whenever they have a dream, they should chase it,” he concluded.
Motshweni is in Grade 12 at Zimisele Secondary School.
