Tsakani hip hop artist dropped out of college to pursue singing career

The hip hop artists aims to be one of the best in the music industry.

Tsakani – A Tsakani hip hop artist has set his eyes on being the best in the industry. Mpho Ncholo, a marketing director at Heidelburg Radio Station, is a hip hop artist from Ndabezitha, Tsakani, known to his fans as ‘Taded’.

The 23-year-old started to explore his interest in music when he was 15 and inspired by his cousin, Gauta Ncholo.

Taded said that after going to college for a while to study marketing, he dropped out to save money for studio sessions.

“That was one of the scariest moments in my life because I went against everything my family believed in by dropping out of school.

“At that time, I believed in my dream so much that I was willing to put everything on the line, but now my family supports my career. I am glad I took the leap of faith,” he said.

Taded said he released his first song, Hooked, in 2018 but has since removed it from music platforms due to its poor quality.

“I was over the moon with the release but had no idea it sounded the way it did. Over the years, I grew and evolved as an artist. I then realised the quality was unpleasant and took it down,” he said.

He added that he had released a few songs, but the one that impacted his life was his first EP, Girls Are A Drug, because it introduced him to people and started to gain traction.

According to Taded, some of his songs played on radio stations and Ms Cosmo’s show, the Beatbox with London D.

“For the Vibe and Elevate were my first songs played by local and national radio stations. Elevate played on TV too,” he said.

Taded is working on a song with Nigerian artist Hpee, and he knows it will be well-loved. He will also release Girls Are a Drug 2 later this year.
