CoE executives hit the streets of Tsakani to address service delivery issues

The mayor stressed the importance of quality service delivery.

Tsakani – As part of the ongoing Mayoral Outreach Programme aimed at assessing service delivery in the metro, Mayor Sivuyile Ngodwana and MMCs visited the community of Tsakani on May 25.

The programme started with a walkabout at the Xhosa Reservoir, which was affected by prolonged load-shedding.

The metro committed to getting two generators to keep the reservoir running efficiently and increase the water supply for the residents of Tsakani.

During the visit, the executive team helped the waste management team clean up illegally dumped waste outside the library.

The mayoral team also rolled their sleeves up to patch the potholes near Pholosong Regional Hospital.

This visit gave Ngodwana and his team valuable insight into the community’s challenges and helped identify areas for improvement to better the quality of life for residents.

Ngodwana and his team were accompanied by representatives from various municipal departments, on hand to respond to any service delivery complaints, questions or concerns raised by the community leaders.

He expressed his commitment to ensuring all the residents of Ekurhuleni had access to basic quality services and emphasised the importance of working around the clock to resolve service delivery concerns raised by communities.
