Two people shot in Duduza
Police are concerned about the number of shootings in Duduza.
Duduza– Two people, including a tavern owner, were shot by a lone gunman in Duduza, in Bluegumview on Saturday night.
It is alleged the perpetrator bought a beer at the tavern and then asked to speak to the owner.
The owner attended to him and the man left.
However, the man returned, armed with a firearm. Without any warning, he opened fire on the owner, shooting her in the upper body.
The man fled the scene on foot while the victim was rushed to the hospital.
Duduza police spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka explained that in a separate incident a vehicle owner was shot by two men in the leg during a hijacking along Lehodi Street.
They approached and accosted the owner of a silver Audi A3 as he was leaving his family home.
Manaka added the police are investigating two cases of attempted murder.
