Residents bring wellness campaign to vulnerable community

The event aimed to empower people living with disabilities.

Kwa-Thema – HIV and Aids wellness campaign brought much-needed support to people living with a disability.
The event was hosted by residents Dolly Motaung, Puleng Moalusi and Kate Molapo from the Disabled Women South Africa last Thursday at the International Christian Church.
They partnered with Disabled People South Africa for the campaign.
Motaung said people with disabilities are the most vulnerable.

“We wanted to empower our community by providing them with accurate and valuable information.
“Hoping with the information we received they will be able to make informed decisions and better take care of themselves.
“A lot of disabled people still face health-related challenges with not much help,” she explained.
On the day they were educated about living a healthy lifestyle and mental health.
There was also a chronic illness testing station.
