The ground is home to Langaville Athletics Health and Fitness Academy and Bazingeli Rovers Football Club.
According to Rover’s chairperson Vusi Khumalo they were forced to look for an alternative ground for practice due to the bad conditions of this ground.
“We have had this ground challenge since last year due to lack of maintenance, grass cutting, ground levelling and the goalposts being stolen.
“For the past season, we have had to use the ground in Ext One for training and to host matches.
“This has led to the club performing poorly, we have lost some of our players as a result also,” explained Khumalo.

The campaign was joined by local Clr Njabulo Mbonani who said the metro is having a challenge with grading sports grounds.
“We are in discussions with the metro regarding the maintenance of the grounds, especially relating to the grading. Also, the community is using the grounds as illegal dumping sites.
“We are therefore requesting the community to refrain from using these grounds meant for recreational activities as dumping sites,” he said.
Khumalo said some of the challenges they have faced is having to default games.
“The ground is not being used by us only as it isn’t ours meaning at times we have to default games if it is in use.
“We have been verbal about the entire issue but no one has come to our rescue.
“Parents are also complaining about the state of the ground,” he added.
