Learner shows great performance at athletics competition

He then progressed to the provincial level, where he was also crowned a winner.

Duduza – Emzimkhulu Primary School learner Sibusiso Khumalo (13) represents his school well.
The Grade Seven learner recently took part in the South African Schools Annual Athletics competition, where he got to represent the school for the Duduza cluster at John Voster Stadium in Nigel.

He obtained first place, which enabled him to represent Greater Nigel in the 80m and 100m events, where he also managed to secure the top position.
Due to his brilliant performance, Khumalo was then selected to participate at the Gauteng East District, which took place in Germiston.
He then progressed to the provincial level, where he was also crowned a winner.

The event took place at Pretoria Stadium on March 11.
The school has described him as a diligent, dedicated, confident and disciplined learner.
“As a school, we are proud of him. He has shown great commitment from the beginning while also finding balance with his academics.
“We wish to thank all staff members and the school’s governing body for the support and the love they have shown to the learner.
“A special thanks is extended to the community members and the local organisation that assisted Khumalo financially, physically, socially and in every aspect in making sure that he excels,” said the school.
They said their goal is to see Khumalo proceed to greater heights as well as get assistance from different institutions, locally as well as provincially for him to unleash and show his expertise about his talent.
