Cricket makes a comeback

The club started with training on Monday at its Prince Thethe Cricket Oval (Kwa-Thema Sports Complex).

Kwa-Thema – The Kwa-Thema Cricket Hub is excited to be back on the field.
The club started training on Monday at its Prince Thethe Cricket Oval (Kwa-Thema Sports Complex) after receiving the go-ahead from Cricket South Africa and Easterns.
It is preparing for the upcoming all-inclusive u-16 provincial trials set to start on July 31 at the Willowmore Park Stadium in Benoni.

Two of its u-19 players, Koketso Nkonoane and Katlego Khumalo, will also be attending the provincial trials.
Head coach Tebogo Gaduka said they are thrilled to be playing again.
“We know our players have been eager to get back on the field, and the turnout proved that.
“However, it is important for our players to note that now we are focusing on the u-16s to be able to manage our numbers on the field.
“Everything will be done as per the regulations,” he said.

In addition, he stated the Eastern School League will be resuming soon.
The date will be communicated in due course.
In the meantime, the club will be training Mondays to Fridays from 15:00 to 17:00.
“All our players will be sanitised and a register will be kept.
“The plan is to host friendly matches on weekends as part of our training,” he explained.
