Soccer legends donate school shoes

Bull Sibeko, a former Witbank Aces player, said the organisation’s work is far from over.

The South African Masters and Legends Football Association Kwa-Thema branch donated 25 pairs of school shoes to learners at Actonville Training Centre last Thursday.

“Our school is a no-fee institution and the majority of our learners come from bad situations.

“We are so grateful for the donation because we know that it will make a major difference in their lives,” said Tim Boroto, principal of the school.

Actonville Training Centre is a specialised school for learners with severe mental disabilities.

Boroto also said that the donation would make the learners feel accepted in the community.

“Most organisations do not choose schools like ours to make such donations.

“We are glad that you decided to make us a priority.”

Bull Sibeko, a former Witbank Aces player, said the organisation’s work is far from over.

“It takes a village to raise a child. The purpose of us being here is to continue to reach out to our community.

“We want to give back, not only in terms of materials but also our wisdom and life experiences.

“The shoes are just items that we know for sure that our children need.

“We just want to be part of the school’s support structure.

“At some point, we would love just to engage with the learners,” he said.
