Kwa-Thema – A man was shot multiple times at his Mkhwanazi Street home on Monday evening.
The victim’s wife told police she was at home with her husband when someone knocked at the door around 8pm.
“She went to check and an unknown male asked for a beer.
“She said she was surprised and told him they do not sell beers at her house,” said Kwa-Thema SAPS communications officer Const Nkululeko Magudulela.

The woman claimed the man refused to leave and insisted on buying a beer.
After her husband had gone to talk to the man, the woman heard gunshots.
She heard her husband screaming for help and she ran outside to his aid.
The woman claimed she tried to grab the firearm from the gunman but was unable to.
A neighbour managed to disarm the man, who then fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Pholosong Hospital by his wife.
“The neighbour brought the firearm, a 357 Magnum Astra Revolver with two live rounds and two cartridges to the station.
“After further investigation, it was found the gun was stolen in Germiston in April.
“It will be forwarded to ballistics to determine if it has not been used to commit any other crimes,” added Magudulela.

Kwa-Thema SAPS station commander Col Mareketle Thobejane applauded the neighbour for handing in the firearm.
“This is one less firearm on the streets that could be used to commit a crime against community members in the Republic of South Africa,” she said.
