Youth starts an educational programme to help learners

Nkululeko Tshabangu is pleading with the community for assistance through donations of stationery for his beneficiaries.

Tsakani – Nkululeko Sibusiso Tshabangu (22) is the founder of Catalyst Mathematics – The Right Approach, an educational programme that assists learners with maths, maths literacy, physical science, life science and accounting.
He is looking to include foundation-phase learners who need help with homework and extra lessons with their subjects.
Tshabangu is also pleading with the community for assistance through donations of stationery for his beneficiaries.

“The idea is to build one another and help each other to become better, especially with these subjects.
“As learners, we tend to compete instead of working as a team to empower each other.
“Some learners who are struggling are called names, whereas they need time and patience,” he said.
He started the programme after completing matric in 2017.

“I used to have classes in the back room at home.
“In 2019, I resorted to having one-on-one sessions after I lost the back room.
“Currently, our classes take place at the Restoration Christian Centre,” he said.

To achieve his goal, Tshabangu has approached four unemployed youth to assist him with classes.
“Our programme keeps on growing as people are seeing our work and the results we have been able to produce.
“This is why it is important for us to get the support from our community, to keep the programme going and to be able to assist as many learners as possible,” he explained.
