Woman’s car taken during robbery

On Tuesday night, the 29-year-old victim was visiting her grandfather with her aunt (55) at an address along Marule Street.

Kwa-Thema SAPS is investigating a case of house robbery and theft of motor vehicle after three men terrorised a family in Rest in Peace.
On Tuesday night, the 29-year-old victim was visiting her grandfather with her aunt (55) at an address along Marule Street.
According to Const Nkululeko Magudulela, communications officer at Kwa-Thema Police Station, the victim had just parked her vehicle, a brand new Hyundai i20 with a temporary registration number, on the pavement and entered her grandfather’s house.

She spent only a few minutes and then walked towards the door with the intention to leave.
The victim was shocked to see the door opening from the outside.
It is alleged three unknown males entered the house, one of whom was armed with a gun.
They ordered her back into the dining room and ordered her to lie on the floor, facing down.
Her aunt and grandfather were also brought into the dining room, and all three were tied up with electric cables.
They were robbed of four cellphones, two laptops, two plasma TVs and a microwave. Bank cards and handbags with personal belongings were also taken.

The robbers then demanded PINs and car keys from the victim. They then loaded the stolen items into the victim’s car and drove off.
No shots were fired and no one was seriously injured.
The community is urged not to hesitate in coming forward with any information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
