Toekoms not neglected, according to CoE

Toekoms housing not neglected, says City

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) has denied the allegations made against it by some residents of Toekoms residential housing.
This follows the publication of an article in the November 5 edition of the Advertiser, “Toekoms houses in disrepair”, where residents alleged the municipality had failed to help them with various issues.
These included plumbing problems and the basic upkeep of houses in the complex.

Some also alleged certain individuals were favoured over others and received these services while the rest were left waiting.
In response, divisional head of communication and media relations at the City Nhlanhla Cebekhulu said: “The department is only aware of the reported problems and attends as and when required.
“The houses are not neglected and service breakdown is attended as and when reported.”
Cebekhulu added the allegations that certain residents are favoured over others is false.
