Rapist gets four life sentences

Capt Johannes Ramphora, communications officer for the Springs Police Station, said the sentencing comes at a time when the community needs to be assured that the SAPS is doing everything in its power in the fight against GBV.

Tsakani – A 48-year-old Tsakani man will spend the rest of his life in prison for raping his biological daughter.

The man, who was arrested in 2018, was found guilty on four counts of rape.
He was sentenced to four life sentences for the heinous crime at the Tsakani Magistrate’s Court at the end of September.
The man cannot be named to protect the identity of his daughter.

“We will continue to work hard to ensure every woman and child feels safe to live in our communities,” he said.
Investigating officer Sgt Modupe Rakwena was commended for the successful conviction.
