Ward councillor wins intimidation case

Busakwe wins intimidation case against SANCO member.

Kwa-Thema – Ward 80 Clr Wilson Busakwe has won the case of intimidation he opened against Sanco local economic development officer Sipho Ndlovu. On Friday, the Kwa-Thema Magistrate’s Court ruled in favour of Busakwe and ordered Ndlovu not to be in contact with the councillor until September 2025. This comes after angry residents and members of Sanco picketed outside the KwaThema Customer Care Centre (CCC) on January 4, demanding the councillor be relieved of his duties.

They refused Busakwe access to his office at the care centre. Busakwe then opened a case of intimidation and applied for a protection order against Ndlovu. The councillor is happy with the court judgment. “Together, Ndlovu and the group have defamed me as the leader of this community. “They called me names and threatened my safety and to this day they don’t see anything wrong with what they did. “I want them to apologise publicly and retract the things they said about me,” he said.

Ndlovu said he has accepted the court ruling. “I am going to respect the court’s judgment and stay 500m from him. “We will only apologise for blocking his way into the CCC offices and intimidating him but not for the corruption and nepotism allegations. “We submitted a petition to the metro on November 20 and are awaiting the outcome. “If the results favour him only then will we apologise,” he said.   Follow us on:
