Meet aspiring young entrepreneur

Tsakani – Twenty-year-old Valencia Nkosi from Extension Nine is the founder of Lencia’s Gifts and Picnics Wonderland, a creative gift box company which also ventures into organising small events.

“My interest in business started in 2018 but I thought it would never be anything serious, but the urge persisted and eventually I gave in.

“My focus is not solely based on gifts but also to organise small events, such as Christmas parties, birthday celebrations, anniversaries and picnics,” she explains.

The business was established this month and Valencia hopes to see it grow.

“I ventured into this particular business because gifts have a way of making people happy and I love seeing people happy.

“Luxury gift boxes are currently gaining popularity worldwide and present great opportunities for young entrepreneurs such as myself.

“Most people struggle to pick a good gift for their loved ones so that’s where I come in,” she adds.

Valencia says the name of her business is a combination of two things.

“I chose the name because I thought it was well suited for my business, Lencia is from my name Valencia and as for wonderland it represents the items I am supplying, I mean gift boxes are full of wonders and can bring lots of happiness in people’s lives,” she says.

“I would like to see my business successful, becoming one of the most successful in the country.

“I want to be able to create employment opportunities, planning big events and creating more unique gift boxes to spread the love round.

“I want to contribute to uplifting my community and paving a way for the future generation that it is indeed doable and achievable,” says Valencia.
