Help wrestling club curb hunger

Wrestling club joins the call to help alleviate food insecurity during lock down

Tsakani – Battle Ground Wrestling Club is appealing to the community for donations of food parcels for 40 of their players.

Team manager Mpumelelo Mjoli says most of these households depend on social grant money.

“These are challenging times for almost everyone, but it takes a village to raise a child.

“Which is why we are asking the community and local businesses to kindly assist us with food donations, as no child should go to bed hungry.

“It would be nice if these families could get food packages on a monthly basis, we are trying our best but without any assistance we cannot do much, a little goes a long way,” he says.

The club is yet to announce when will they return to training, but according to Mjoli the club will not be resuming training until level one.

“At the moment we have decided to pause training and have also decided we won’t be entering any competitive competitions until further notice,” he adds.
