“There’s a lack of support between women in the business sector.

“We often think the other one is trying to copy what I do or they think they can do better than me and so forth.

“I think we should use that energy to support each other.

“We do not stand to lose anything by supporting each other’s businesses; we, in fact, stand to gain a whole lot.

“The campaign is about women taking up economic development, like Miss Universe has said.

A local campaign put local female entrepreneurs in the spotlight, the seminar will be hosted by Mapaseka Tembe, Nonaxbiso Longweni and Mpho Hlophe.

“That’s what the campaign is all about.

“Our aim is to form a network of female business owners and start a culture whereby we support one other and lookout for each other,” says Tembe.

Make-up artist Nomaxabiso Longweni says women in business will benefit a lot from the campaign.

“There’s a lot we can teach each other.

“I think anyone who has an interest in starting their own business or have already started stand to benefit from the information which will be shared on the day.

“The campaign speaks on women surviving in business and destroying the stigma which surrounds women,” says Longweni.

Mpho Hlophe from Drama Queen clothing brand, who is also a co-founder of the campaign, says the initiative is something which will open channels for young women in business.

It aims to address how women play a huge role in economic development to ensure sustainable development within the country.
