City of Ekurhuleni will help save lives by offering free first aid training courses

Residents can apply by sending a training request to the DEMS office at any of the City’s fire stations.

Saving a life in a case of an emergency is everyone’s responsibility, and the City of Ekurhuleni’s Disaster and Emergency Services (DEMS) is offering free basic first aid training to members of the public.

In addition, DEMS will also be offering free cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as well as basic firefighting and evacuation training, in case of emergency-related incidences.

Free training on general home safety will also be offered.

This includes safety talks about the usage of candles, paraffin, liquefied petroleum (LP) gas, as well as generator and electricity safety.

Residents can apply by sending a training request to the DEMS office at any of the City’s fire stations.

A minimum of 10 people and maximum of 25 are required for a training session to take place.

Training is offered to any organised groups such as crèches, schools, organisations, Community Policing Forums (CPF) and social clubs.
