KwaThema artist to release new music

He began performing at schools to kickstart his music journey.

KwaThema – Twenty-one-year-old Leago Sinclair Moganedi, popularly known as EeQue, is taking local music to new heights.

The rapper started recording and releasing music in 2012.

“I fell in love with music from a very young age; I was still in primary school.

“Once I discovered my love for rap music there was no turning back.

“I started by sharing my passion amongst family and friends and the feedback I received was very positive,” says EeQue.

He began performing at schools to kickstart his music journey.

“I took my music to the people.

“I used to perform at schools in the township just to put my name out there.

“From there I started getting booked for gigs and had the opportunity to perform my own songs live on stage,” he adds.

He is currently working on new music with Makwa, who has produced for Kwesta.

The song titled Mama is to be released on February 14.

His biggest achievement was collaborating with hip-hop superstar KiD X in 2019.

“Having an opportunity to work with KiD X was truly a blessing.

“The feedback we received for KgaliKgali was truly amazing.

“I am very thankful to each and every one who has been supporting my music from the get-go.

“But I feel now that that’s done, we are moving forward and aiming for bigger achievements,” says EeQue.

The rapper won song of the year for KgaliKgali, featuring KiD X and won Best Music Video for 2 by 2 at the 2019 Ekurhuleni Hip-Hop Development Awards.

Both songs were featured on his extended-play titled New Age Mashamplan, which was released last year.
