KwaThema Striders to continue preparing for Comrades qualifiers through festive season

The team will be preparing for the Comrades Marathon qualifier at the 38th edition of the Johnson Crane Hire Marathon which will be held on January 26, 2020, at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni.

KwaThema – While many running teams will be hanging up their running shoes for the festive season, KwaThema Striders Running Club will be training even harder.

The team will be preparing for the Comrades Marathon qualifier at the 38th edition of the Johnson Crane Hire Marathon which will be held on January 26, 2020, at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni.

Team secretary Tshepo Mahlangu says there is no time to rest because they want to see as many of their runners qualifying for the Comrades Marathon and the only way to do so is by working hard.

Mahlangu adds that there will be an opening run on January 4 catering for different distances.

“We are inviting all the aspiring runners who are interested in joining the team to participate.

“This run will be used to welcome new members to the team,” he adds.

“New members are expected to pay a joining fee of R450, which includes a team vest and a running licence under the Central Gauteng Association (CGA),” he adds.
