I am aware that some can be provocative and in such instances I think the corporate has a right to protect their brand and image.” Are tattoos and piercings a stain on your job prospects and career? Jabu Gamede: “It depends on the type of piercing or tattoo a person has. Some tend to make other people feel uncomfortable so I think it comes down to how a person present themselves and which area of your body it covers.” Narboth Mathole: “I strongly believe that it is just art and people should be allowed to express themselves and explore their creativity.” Busisiwe Mkhonta: “It’s their body therefore whether they get modification or not it should never be a reason for them not to get hired.” Siphesihle Twala: “Piercings and tattoos are part of art so I think people should be allowed to freely and fully express themselves and they should not be judged for it.” Samkelo Sibeko: “I think it usually depends on the type of tattoo a person has because some represents gang signs and so forth while for others it might have a deeper meaning.” Nompumelelo Kunene: “I think if it doesn’t affect their work it should not be a problem.
