KwaThema – Learners from the Laban Motlhabi Comprehensive School in KwaThema have done their school proud after coming first in two competitions on Tuesday at the Dalpark Teachers’ Centre.

In the National Heritage Council Competition, learners had to do a presentation on how to promote and preserve intangible cultural heritage, identifying heritage sites and the promotion of creative and performance arts.

This competition has been running for 10 years and aims to inculcate the culture, self-appreciation and national identity through raising awareness about South Africa’s cultural and national heritage.

Sphesihle Zulu was thrilled when Kevin Ramatshwi won the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Oral History Competition on Tuesday.

The group of four learners took first place at district level and will go on to compete at the provincial elimination round in Garankuwa in Pretoria tomorrow.

Teacher Sphesihle Zulu says he’s excited his learners will be taking part in the provincial elimination round.
