KwaThema- A 45-year-old man suspected to be a serial rapist was caught and allegedly assaulted by a mob at the Tsakane Old Cemetery on Monday morning.
It is alleged the suspect raped a 25-year-old woman who was passing through the cemetery.
After the alleged assault the victim managed to call out for help, and the community responded, chasing the suspect until they caught him.

Tsakane police spokesperson, Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu says police cannot confirm at this stage if the man is indeed the long-wanted suspect of rape.
“The investigation of other cases and this new case are still under way, only the forensic reports will give investigation the direction,” she explains.
The suspect has been arrested and is in police custody and will appear at Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon.
Tsakane SAPS Station Commander Col Johannes Maass is appealing to the community not to take the law into their hands whenever suspects are apprehended, but to call the police.
