21-year-old raped after birthday celebration in KwaThema
“The victim said she didn’t have any money and the robbers became angry, forced her to take off her pantyhose and instructed her to face the opposite direction. She alleged the suspect raped her.”
KwaThema – A 21-year-old woman was raped in an open field near Dintle Street, KwaThema, after a night of partying on Saturday.
It is alleged the victim was walking with six of her friends, accompanying them home after her birthday party along Dintle Street, when they were approached by four men.

KwaThema police spokesperson Const Media Khoza says they stopped and held them at gunpoint and demanded money, cellphones and clothes.
“The victim said she didn’t have any money and the robbers became angry, forced her to take off her pantyhose and instructed her to face the opposite direction.
“She alleged the suspect raped her.
“They robbed her of her clothes and fled on foot.

“Police are still on the lookout for the suspects,” she explains.
The station commander, Col Mareketle Thobejane, condemned such violence against women and urged the community to come forward with information to assist police regarding this case.
