Pair from Langaville were arrested for drug possession

The arrested pair were detained at Tsakane Police Station charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances.

Langaville – Two suspected drug peddlers were arrested after being caught in possession of drugs in Extension Eight on Sunday.

The suspects were found in possession of dagga, khat and nyaope valued at R5 000.

EMPD spokesperson Supt Wilfred Kgasago says they received a tip-off from the community and immediately reacted.

“The police uncovered 39 packets of nyaope, two ziplocks of khat, seven ziplocks of dagga and one plastic bag containing loose dagga weighing 44g.

“They were also in possession of cash amounting to R1 624 which was confiscated,” he says.

The arrested pair were detained at Tsakane Police Station and were charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances.

“They will appear at the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon,” he says.
