KwaThema – Local teams at the KwaThema Sports Complex played a friendly match, following disruptions and postponement of the league.

Ayoba football team took on Langaville in a friendly match on May 11.

The u-13 game was welcomed by fans and supporters on the day.

Ayoba coach Banele Ndwalane says: “We are truly disappointed about the postponement of the fixture because, initially, we came here today looking forward to start the league.

“Apparently some teams haven’t submitted their team photos for the cards.”

The game was nonetheless a very intense one as both teams looked to come out victorious.

Langaville played a very good game, but Ayoba came in too strong, which saw them winning 5-3.

Langaville Football Club coach Adolph Kgabo wasn’t quite happy with the results, but remained supportive about going forward.

“We played a very good game, even though the end results weren’t favourable to us. This was more of a fitness test for us as it is the first time both teams played together,” says Kgabo.

Langaville Football Club striker Thorollo Motseko (15) explained that playing soccer keeps him busy and away from the social ills many of his peers find themselves involved in.

“I love playing soccer because it keeps me away from drugs and alcohol.

“I benefit a lot from it and I have the chance to make friends who have the same interest as me. My body also benefits due to the regular exercise,” says Motseko.
