Langaville residents encouraged to use sport to commemorate youth day

In celebration of Youth Month, netball and soccer teams from Langaville are invited to participate in the Langaville Youth Day Knockout Challenge.

Langaville – Local teams are invited to register for the upcoming netball and soccer youth tournament in celebration of Youth Month.

The tournament will be a two-day event, organised by Palamente Football Club, and netball and soccer teams from Langaville are invited to participate in the Langaville Youth Day Knockout Challenge.

The tournament will be held from June 15 to 16 at Langaville Extension One and Extension Seven sports grounds.

The tournament is set to celebrate young, talented individuals from within the area.

“There are lots of youth in the community who are very talented, but lack the opportunity to showcase their talents,” says co-organiser Mandla Gininda.

Interested clubs must submit their club names, address and contact details to the tournament organiser at palamentefc@outlook.com or send a WhatsApp to 060 634 4955.

The games are for the u-17 and senior teams and will consist of four u-17 teams, four netball teams and four senior teams.

Seniors will be divided into men in the soccer teams and mixed in the netball teams.

The tournament will be structured as follows:

• The u-17 teams will play on June 15 at Langaville Extension Seven Sports Ground.

• The senior teams and netball games will be played on June 16 at Langaville Extension One Sports Ground.

The registration fee per u-17 team is R200, R200 per netball team and for seniors it is R300.

The closing date for entries is May 31.

There are prizes for first teams.

The winning prize for the u-17 team is R500, a trophy and 25 gold medals; for the netball team the prize is R500, a trophy and 20 gold medals; and the senior team will walk away with R800, a trophy and 25 gold medals.
