“We still have 24 games to play through hard work and using every single opportunity we will be able to gain more points to move up on the log,” he says.

JVW Football Club is holding position one on the log with the home team at position 11.

Team coach Mkhonza Mkhonzana says this was one of the difficult games they participated in during the league games.

“Most of the players in the JVW Football Club also play for Banyana Banyana. This intimidated our players.

“They were star struck and failed to use most of their chances to score goals and in the process they lost the games on their home soil.”

Mkhonzana says they are hoping to make a stronger comeback to be able to move up on the log.

“We still have 24 games to play. Through hard work and using every single opportunity we will be able to gain more points to move up on the log,” he says.

The team coach says he is grateful for the support they continue to receive from the locals.

“We are seeing the number of residents who come to support and watch our games increasing with each game played on the home soil.

“Through sports we are able to remove young people from the streets but to focus on the games where they learn discipline.

“Through sports the players are able to have a fresh mind which helps them to concentrate in class,” he says.
