KwaThema Eater Sports games postponed

All the games, which should have been played on Monday, will now be played this coming Sunday.

KwaThema – The KwaThema sport Easter festival games, which were scheduled for April 22 at the KwaThema Sports Complex, have been moved to April 28 due to extreme weather conditions.

The KwaThema Sports Confederation president, Innocent Mayoyo, says: “The executive committee of the confederation took a very bold and positive decision to postpone our last day game of the Easter festival to protect the players from the extreme weather conditions.”

He says he would like to thank everyone who has partnered with them for these Easter festivals.

“I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to the local sports, arts and culture department for preparing the facilities for all sports codes, as well as the Ekurhuleni sports department for the medals and trophies,” says Mayoyo.

All the games, which should have been played on Monday, will now be played this coming Sunday.

Proceedings will start with a sports-awareness fun walk at 8am from the KwaThema Sports Complex.

Bafana Manake, coordinator of bodybuilding and fitness, is inviting the public and asking them for support.

“We are inviting the public to come through in their numbers and support the participants.

“We would like to thank the parents who have been supporting us through and through.”

Manake is also extending an invitation to anyone who has an interest in the bodybuilding and fitness code. “Anyone from the age of five is more than welcome to come and be a part of us, regardless of gender.

“We are also asking for local gyms to support us,” says Manake.

Saki Kgaphola from the KwaThema Athletics Federation says: “We are grateful to all stakeholders who have been patient and supportive during these challenging times.

“We are also thankful to our president, Mayoyo, for ensuring that sport in KwaThema prevails.”

The community is being invited to the sports confederation’s reporting meeting, which will take place on May 2 at Kenneth Masekela Secondary School at 5pm.
