New state-of-the-art library for Tsakane

Tsakane – The requests of Ward 84 residents were finally answered when the new Tsakane Library was opened on April 12.

The library is worth R16-million and caters to patrons of all ages as it boasts a full computer lab with Wi-Fi, a children’s study section with toys, an adult study area and a wide variety of books.

Siphosihle Nkosi, a learner at Buhlebemfundo Secondary School, which is next to the library, says: “This library will help in improving the matric pass rate for learners in my school.”

Nkosi continued to say the facility will help them improve their school’s matric pass rate.

MMC for Community Services Clr Dora Mlambo urged the community to take good care of the library and protect it from vandals and thieves.

“This multi-million rand facility will now erase the pressure of travelling to libraries far from their homes,” says Mlambo.

The library will operate from 8am to 4.30pm on weekdays and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
